Job description: This position has been segmented as 100% Virtual Remote meaning the work is completed 100% remote anywhere in the U.S. except Hawaii or United States Territories.Responsibilities:Review complex IT-capital requests and supporting documentation for proper US GAAP accounting treatment that aligns with the Company’s PPE PolicyReview GL account and project coding on IT related capital expense invoices prior to management approvalMonitor and review Construction in Process (CIP) and work closely with field personnel to ensure timely in-service datesMonitor and review IT expense accounts related to hardware and software projects including consulting, internal labor, and software as a service (SAAS)Create IT assets using accurate allocations and asset classifications and proper useful livesCreate and monitor a system of controls, procedures, and forms for recording fixed assetsMaintain IT fixed asset records including additions, retirements, transfers and book and tax depreciation for multiple business unitsReview system generated depreciation form PeopleSoft Asset Management for reasonableness and resolve and resolve any discrepanciesPrepare month-end journal entries and complete general ledger account analysisComplete accounting reconciliation activities including reconciling the balance in the fixed asset and Construction in Process subsidiary ledger to the summary-level account in the general ledgerRespond to moderately complex questions within existing policies and procedures exercising some independent judgmentConduct periodic fixed asset reviews and impairment inquires for capital assetsCompile and provide audit support as requested by internal and external auditorsAssist with projects, research, and system related tasks as assignedProvide functional advice and training to less-experience Staff AccountantsOther duties as assigned by managerRelationshipsInternal: Accounting and Finance department leaders and associatesExternal: AuditorsMinimum Qualifications:Must possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in Accounting, Finance, or other relevant areaIntermediate skills using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)Experience in a fast paced, high-volume environmentPrioritization/Organization/Multi-tasking – Able to organize work and meet deadlines without regular guidanceAttention to Detail – Regularly provides work that is accurate, thorough and consistentCommunications – Verbal & Written skills are clear and conciseAnalytical – Strong analytical skillProblem Solving – Solves problems mostly independently, some of which are complexIndependent Thinking – Manages assigned tasks with little directionTeam Participation – Collaborates well with team members and other work associatesInterpersonal – Has established strong working relationships with othersInitiative – Able to identify areas of improvement and take action to plan and accomplish goals5% of travel may be requiredEducation:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related analytical field required (or related experience)Certifications/Training:CPA or job relevant certifications preferredPreferred Qualifications:MA/MBA preferredCPA or job relevant certifications preferredExperience with Peoplesoft Asset Management & Project Costing preferredThe following information is provided in accordance with certain state and local laws. Compensation depends on experience, geographic locations, and other factors permitted by law. In California, the expected compensation for this role is between $61,500 and $82,000. In Connecticut, the expected compensation for this role is between $64,800and $86,400. In Colorado, the expected compensation for this role is between $54,900 and $73,200. In Maryland, the expected compensation for this role is between $58,100 and $77,500. In Minnesota, the expected compensation for this role is between $54,900 and $73,200. In New York, the expected compensation for this role is between $64,800and $86,400. In Rhode Island, the expected compensation for this role is between $58,100 and $77,500. In Washington, the expected compensation for this role is between $61,500 and $82,000. This role is also eligible for annual incentive plan bonus.
